"Coming in Fall of 2008"

“The most important applied science of the 21st century” – the science of using living things and processes to make a product or solve a problem. This senior program is a bridge between high school, college, and the rapidly expanding field of biotechnology. Instruction will focus on traditional biology concepts and introductory to advanced biotechnology concepts, including: cellular processes, metabolism, DNA, chromosomes, genes, instrumentation, solution/media preparation, good lab safety and practices, microbiology, sterilizations, bioseparation, and processes used in forensic sciences. Processes such as electrophoresis, centrifugation, filtration, separation, and spectrophotometry will also be emphasized.
