In this
two-year program, students will learn to design and maintain
local area networks (LAN) that link computer to computer
and wide area networks (WAN) that link building systems.
Installation and maintenance of various network operating
systems, such as Microsoft NT and Novell will also be
studied. Students will become knowledgeable in business
computer applications, software selection and troubleshooting,
in addition to learning techniques in basic computer
repair. Instruction for this class will be project-based,
and students will learn through problem solving and work-based
learning experiences. This program is an affiliate of
the Cisco Networking Training Academy, and students who
complete the course will be eligible to take the Cisco
Certified Networking Associate Exam to receive CCNA certification.
Students are required to join Business Professionals
of America, a student leadership organization. Tech Prep credit - high school and college credit is available.
