My dear Mrs. Winslow:
Forgive my tardy acknowledgement of the wonderful Thanksgiving provided by the pupils of Heights High School.
Never in my experience have I seen anything quite as overwhelming as the 39 baskets which were brought to our office! I hope that someone got a picture of the baskets before they left the school. We were quite busy rushing to the next floor to put turkeys and chickens in the refrigerator.
The workers who delivered the baskets in the morning came back looking as happy as Santa Claus himself, because each recipient was so overjoyed to receive her basket. The afternoon shift reported the same experience when they came in the next morning. Some of the workers who were not on the delivery squad received grateful telephone calls from their families that same day. Indeed, the baskets looked so wonderful that most of the staff suggested that their names be turned in next year.
We wish that the pupils who provided such a wonderful holiday treat could have had the pleasure of seeing the happiness they made possible. Would they like to deliver the baskets themselves some time?
Thank you all again. I hope that the families know where to write so they can write their own thank you note
Very truly yours,
Dorothy Kimmel,
