Then signs of community growth began to appear in Cleveland Heights. In 1902 the
village became incorporated, the first bond issue of the Cleveland Heights Board
of Education was passed. sufficient amount of money had been raised to purchase
some land on Lee Road, one mile north of the Cedar-Lee intersection. A red brick high school
building was to be constructed!
Cleveland Heights High School - 1903-1915
This was actually the fourth school building to belong to the Cleveland Heights Board of Education. Three other schools were operating, but they did not accommodate the high school grades. Students of high school age from Cleveland Heights attended the township academy, later to become Shaw High School, in East Cleveland.
