Epilogue

Education at Cleveland Heights High School will continue to change, as new and better methods and techniques are devised. Several new approaches to teaching have been tried while others are being studied as possible innovations.

Emphasis on the development of the reasoning and creative abilities of the individual is an increasingly large consideration in the classroom.

The fast-moving space age may necessarily make the development of the skills of human relations and inquiry an important part of the curriculum. In conjunction with this wider scope of learning is the recognized importance of the correlation of subject areas. Practical experience for students taking business and industrial arts courses is a growing area of improvement.

A final area of potential change involves the use of machines. Closed circuit and educational television will probably be used more than ever as new and better programming is developed. Computers may be used for tasks varying from simplifying office work, to analyzing a student's potential ability, to acting as a library reference unit.

While some of these advances have already proved valuable in enriching the classroom experience, others have not yet been incorporated as accepted practices. Cleveland Heights High School, mindful of these improvements, will be eager to change with the times in continuance of its fine heritage and tradition.

If we work upon marble, it will perish; if we work upon brass, time will efface it; if we rear temples, they will crumble into dust; but if we work upon immortal minds, if we imbue them with principles, with the just fear of God and love of our fellowmen`we engrave on those tablets something which will brighten to all eternity.

Daniel Webster
