Your final is supposed to be calculated at 20% of the student’s grade for the semester.
How you actually go about creating this 80% -20% depends on how you have set your grades up for the semester. Following are a couple of scenarios. If your method of grading does not correspond to one of these scenarios, please call me at 3101 and we can discuss your specific case.
You have been simply adding points to determine the grade since the beginning of the semester (that is, the grade reflects the number of points a student has for the semester, divided by the total of possible points).
If this is how you calculate your grades, choose this scenario.
You have given different weights to each quarter. For example, all of the first quarter grades are 40% of the overall grade for the semester, and the 2nd quarter grades have been worth 60% percent of the grade. Now you need to incorporate the final, so that it is worth 20% of the total semester grade.
If this is how you calculate your grades, choose this scenario.
