Directions: Students enrolling in 10th grade English 2 or 10th Grade Read 180 for the 2009-2010 school year. Assignments are due Thursday, September 3, 2009.
| I. | Select two of the following readings, using the 10th Grade Summer Reading List as your guide. Click on the link to see the list. (You have forty-five books and twenty-one publications from which to choose. Have fun!) | |||

| 1. | Complete
the Parent/Guardian
Evaluation Form for one of the books or the four publications that you
have selected. The form will be collected on Thursday,
September 3, 2009. Click the link to download a copy of the Parent/Guardian Evaluation Form. |

| 2. | Prepare to demonstrate your understanding of the summer reading. The reading must be completed by Thursday, September 3, 2009. In addition, an essay, a creative project, a presentation and/or a test may be assigned. | |||
| 3. | Use the Cornell notes to take notes on your reading of the books. The notes will not be collected; however, you will be able to use the notes for any assessments that are assigned. Click the link for a downloadable copy of the Cornell notes. | |||
| 4. | Understand the importance of reading during the summer. The summer reading assignments will be included in your first marking period grade. | |||
