Each student is responsible for the stated items of the Ohio State Standards for their grade level (American History Eighth Grade) and for the supporting textbook areas.

Please visit the chapter or unit link for each chapter. Although assignments may differ between chapters, you will be held
responsible for the stated items of the Ohio State Standards for the course you are enrolled and for overall textbook areas. These areas are listed in each chapter website.

Many assignments will have options for you to chose from. Whatever assignment option you choose, you will be held responsible for the following section reviews topics as applicable:
  1. Definitions
  2. Identifying
  3. Analyzing/Catagorizing
  4. Finding the Main idea
  5. Writing and  Critical Thinking
Homework/Classwork includes all written and oral assignments assigned (e.g. including, but not limited to: section Reviews, Chapter Reviews, Vocabulary, Maps, and Study Sheets). The completion of these assignments (as per teacher instruction) may be either partially or totally outside of class.

For most assignments, the student may design an alternative assignment and assessment, with teacher approval, which meets the topic(s) & goals of the posted assignment.

Each student is expected to keep an organized notebook (3-ring binder) as described by the instructor. The contents of the notebook will include all written assignments, all handouts distributed in class, and all materials as instructed by the teacher.
