Responsibilities of Educators

Educators must acknowledge the shift in professional development and the licensing / certification process from the State level to the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). Educators will need to complete an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) as determined by the Local Professional Development Committee. Under the new standards, educators required to renew license(s) / certificate(s) must:

  • submit to the LPDC the documentation necessary to meet the requirements and timelines for renewal of licenses or certificates.
  • seek pre-approval from the LPDC for equivalent activities as outlined in this handbook.
  • develop an IPDP based on the needs of the students, the educator, the school, and the district and submit to the LPDC for approval PRIOR TO commencement of the plan’s activities.

Licensing/certification renewal forms:

  1. The LPDC will make all necessary forms available to staff members in their respective buildings from the Human Resources Office, from LPDC members, or from the school district website ( resources.chuh.org/LPDC/ ).
  2. The individual staff member will be responsible for maintaining and providing:

    • all current certificates/licenses
    • college transcripts
    • Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)
    • verification sheets, and
    • pre-approval forms and evaluation forms for CEU, contact hour, and PDU activities
