Certification/Licensure Renewal Timeline

3 to 5 years before renewal deadline for your certification/licensure:
(Check the expiration dates of your license/certificate on the ODE website)

  1. Complete an IPDP (Form 1) and get approval for any PD activites. (Form 3 )
  2. Begin work on your Individual Professional Development Plan.
  3. If you wish to revise your plan, submit a revised IPDP (Form 1).

Spring of renewal year. (although deadline is September 1, don't wait until then!)

  1. Complete work on your plan.
  2. Submit IPDP (Form 1) and verifications of completion of all Graduate Hours, CEU’s, Contact Hours,
    and PDU activities to the LPDC, along with the pre-approval forms for each activity when applicable.

  3. Upon validation of IPDP, submit the renewal/transition application form with your check or money order for the renewal/transition fee to the LPDC. Renewal application forms are available from the Human Resources Office. All fees and applications are the responsibility of the renewal applicant.

PROCEDURE & TIMELINES FOR IPDP’s

Licensed/Certified staff members who have licenses/certificates that are scheduled for renewal must file an IPDP at the time of renewal. The IPDP should outline the professional development activities that will be utilized to renew the license/certificate upon its next expiration. The IPDP process only applies to all licensed/certified personnel who have a license/certificate that must be renewed again in the future.

  1. Submit one copy of your IPDP to the LPDC Committee via the Human Resources Office.
  2. The IPDP will be reviewed at the monthly LPDC meeting.
  3. If you would like to revise your IPDP, submit one copy of the revision to the LPDC Committee
    for approval.
  4. You must include verifications of completion of all Graduate Hours, CEU’s, Contact Hours,
    and PDU activities to the LPDC at the time of renewal, along with the pre-approval forms for
    each activity when applicable.
  5. Upon successfully completing your IPDP, you will need to complete the renewal/transition
    application form and forward it with your check or money order for the renewal/transition fee to
    the LPDC. Renewal application forms are available from the Human Resources Office. All fees
    and applications are the responsibility of the renewal applicant.
