Dear Families,

We are pleased to inform you of a special purchase made on behalf of each student in grades three through twelve in the CHUH School District. A writing folder has been designed exclusively for our district. The reflecting folder, as it is being called, will support the act of writing. As students choose different roles, audiences, topics and formats to explore, they will learn to express their thoughts, emotions and understandings in new ways. An opportunity to record reactions and recommendations about and for writing is found on the inside cover. Based on conferences with a teacher, acclamations and suggestions for the current piece of writing as well as future pieces of writing are captured. This log serves as a visual record for growth throughout a school year with regards to writing. Ask your child about his/her experience with this new tool for learning.
