Symphonic
Band
Symphonic Band is for students with some advanced skills and abilities
in musicianship, tone quality, articulation, rhythmic accuracy
and ensemble experience. Students are chosen either by recommendation
of their previous director or by audition. This is a balanced
band of approximately 70-90 members what will continue improving
basic skills while developing a repertoire consistent with the
type of music found in Ohio Music Educator's Association Class
B, C, and D Contest lists. Concerts are performed in February
and in May. Successful participation in this course requires attendance/participation
in all its activities and daily classes, sectional rehearsals,
Marching Band rehearsals, scheduled evening rehearsals immediately
before a concert or contest and concert performances. Symphonic
Band may participate in the District Ohio Music Educator's Association
Band Competitions. Brett Baker has directed the Symphonic Band
since 2001.
